Must register to vote 29 days before the election (listed below). Can select or change party affiliation 29 days before the election.

Who Can Absentee Vote in Florida?
If a voter wishes to vote absentee, he/she must be registered and must provide one of the
following reasons:
1. Voter is unable to vote on election day without another's assistance to attend the polls. 2. Voter can not be in the precinct of his/her residence during the hours the
polls are open for voting on election day. 3. Voter is an inspector, a poll worker, a deputy voting machine custodian, a deputy sheriff, a super-visor of elections, or a deputy supervisor who is
assigned to a different precinct than that in which he/she is registered. 4. On account of the tenets of his/her religion, voter cannot attend the polls on the day of the general, special, or primary
election. 5. Voter has changed his/her permanent residency to another county in Florida within the time period during which the registration books are closed for the election. The voter understands
that he/she is allowed to vote only for national and statewide offices and on statewide issues. 6. Voter has changed his/her permanent residency to another state and is unable under the laws of such
state to vote in the general election. The voter understands that he/she is allowed to vote only for President and Vice President. 7. Voter is unable to attend the polls on election day and is voting
this ballot in person at the office of, and under the supervision of, the county super-visor of elections.
How Can I Acquire an Absentee Ballot?
Ballots may be requested in person, by phone or by letter. When requesting an absentee ballot, the following information must be provided:
- Applicant's name - Applicant's residence address
- Applicant's mailing address (if different than residence address) - Applicant's date of birth - The last four digits of the applicant's Social Security Number
- Applicant's voter identification number - The election(s) for which the applicant wishes to receive an absentee ballot
One request shall be deemed sufficient to receive an absentee ballot
for all elections which are held within a calendar year, unless a request is made for specific elections.
The supervisor may accept a written or telephonic request for an absentee ballot from a
member of the applicant's immediate family, or the applicant's legal guardian, if directly instructed by the applicant.
The supervisor of elections will mail out the absentee ballot not sooner
than the 20th day before the election and not later than the 10th day before the date of the election.
How do I Return the Absentee Ballot and What is the Deadline?
The voter must mail, deliver, or have delivered the marked ballot so that it reaches the supervisor of elections no later than 7:00 p.m. on the day of the election. The ballot must be
returned in the return mailing envelope.
