Bush "Agonizing" over Stem Cell Research

President Bush is considering whether government funds should be used to support medical research using human stem cells harvested from unborn fetal tissue. Scientists believe that stem cell research will lead to a medical revolution with the potential to treat numerous serious illnesses, but the use of human embryos presents a grave moral dilemma for many Americans.


Party Wrangling May Stall Vote On Patients' Rights Bill

With the debate over the patients' bill of rights heating up in the Senate, lawmakers may be forced to remain in Washington over the Fourth of July holiday. Democrats and Republicans agree on the basic premise of a patients' bill of rights, but are far apart on two key provisions – a patient's right to sue and employer liability.
