Democratic and Republican Debates WASHINGTON, D.C. Janurary 26, 2000 What: For the first time ever, the Internet will bring a live measurement of voters' opinions on the presidential candidates during Wednesday's back-to-back Democratic and Republican debates in Manchester, New Hampshire. Using a "Real Time Analyzer" focus group at the Holiday Inn Center of New Hampshire, two blocks away from the debate site at WMUR-TV, will provide unrestricted satellite access to the results from the group as they register reactions to each candidate. A select group of 70 New Hampshire voters, half Democrat and half Republican, was recruited to participate, and will use hand-held devices to register their opinions in real-time as the debate progresses. The presence of a balanced, bi-partisan panel for the SpeakOut.com group will also allow a unique interactive survey of eventual general election match-ups between the leading Democrat and Republican candidates. SpeakOut.com vice president of external affairs, Josh King will be available at the dial group to talk about SpeakOut.com and how this is a significant first step in the fusion of the Internet and the American political process. Interviews with the focus group participants can also be arranged. Where: Holiday Inn Center of New Hampshire 700 Elm Street, Manchester When: Wednesday, January 26, 2000.
